I
have been actively engaged in the profession of massage
and bodywork since 1992. I have taken the extra steps
required to master my craft and have maintained a
licensure from the beginning, even before being required
by law to do so. I specialize in prevention and
recooperation from issues that could otherwise only be
resolved with medication and or surgery.
By
continuing my education in fields that relate to healing
therapeutic massage, I have learned where massage works
and where it falls short. I have evolved to be much more
than just a massage therapist and play many roles for
many people. In an attempt to clarify what I do, I have
asked my clients how they would describe what I do. They
have many terms they apply to me, here are just a few:
bodywizard, magic hands, lil godzilla, herbalist,
healer, helper, coach, guide, teacher, mirror holder,
reality checker, motivator, perspective adjuster,
behaviour modifier, director, bodyworker, alternative
health advisor, mind body soul connector, muse,
sculptor, artist, empath, doctor and friend.
I
am not a doctor. I have no PhD, but I have helped many
where medical practitioners have failed. If you ask me
how I can do this without a PhD I will tell you it is
because I have studied the language of the body and have
learned palpation skills that many doctors lack. I can
not tell you if you are pregnant or if you have cancer
among many other things. I do not label or diagnose. I
cannot set a broken bone or stitch you up but I can
eliminate pain from your aching back or troublesome
shoulder by releasing trigger points that impact the
pull of the muscular body. I can assist you in
maintaining peak performance while helping you stay away
from medications which can eventually lead to other
problems as medications often do when improperly used.
Over 100,000 people per year die because of over or
improper medications. We don't know how many people's
lives are complicated by the use of medications that
could have been completely avoided by maintaining a
regular massage routine.
My
alternative education has taught me the muscular body is
nothing more than a register for every component it
houses and is often not given enough acknowledgment for
the wisdom it yields. At times massage is not enough to
correct and balance the body. Many pain cycles originate
from habitual patterns that are necessary to identify in
order to break the cycle of pain that interferes with
daily bliss. Pain can be created in the body by lack of
physical activity, negative mental outlooks, bad
postural habits as well as nutritional deficiencies and
imbalances. Life has taught me that everything requires
maintenance in order to maintain the best working order,
this includes your body. Massage is an excellent avenue
to balance imbalances that ignored over time will become
catastrophe.
I
have gathered knowledge on many alternative modalities
and can direct you on whether you need a massage, a
colonic, a chiropractor, an exercise program, an energy
session, nutritional supplementation etc.
Example: One client had been to see five other massage
therapists before he made it to my office. The issue was
chronic and debilitating spasm and cramping in the legs.
During the massage he stated that if the massage did not
fix the problem he would know massage was all a hoax. I
explained massage was not a hoax, but it would never fix
his problem because his legs were not the problem....his
colon was. I explained the points where he was
experiencing pain were all trigger points from the colon
and if he would resolve his issues of constipation that
would rebalance his legs. He responded with shocked
amazement.
He
wanted to know how I knew he was constipated especially
since he had not mentioned that issue. When I explained
all the indicators his body presented telling me the
problem originated from constipation he decided to try a
colonic.
For this particular client a series of three colonics
eliminated problems that had been battled for years and
brought immediate and lasting relief. Please understand,
just because you have leg cramps it does not necessarily
mean you are constipated. For this particular client
however, leg cramps in combination with other messages
his body was sending indicated constipation. Leg cramps
can be signals for many different issues including side
effects from some medications.
When massage is utilized as part of a regular
maintenance program you will gain many benefits. You
will find a long list of those on "benefits of massage"
page. If you are serious about massage and want to be
the best you can be, you will love what I do. |
